Scottish tennis rankings relaunched to celebrate fantastic 2024
• 4 MINUTE READ
Tennis Scotland are relaunching the Scottish rankings – celebrating success and recognising the achievements of our players as they compete around the world.
Top 10s in men’s and women’s singles and doubles will be published by Tennis Scotland each January, showing the standings at the end of the year just completed. Using points accumulated through the LTA rankings system, active players who are eligible to compete for Scotland at any level of tennis in any age group can be included.
2024 was a fantastic year for so many Scottish players as they competed on the ATP, WTA and ITF international tours, as well as on home soil on the TS Open Tour and Lexus British Tour.
Topping the singles rankings were Cameron Norrie - who ended the season by reaching the final of an ATP 250 in Metz, France – and Hephzibah Oluwadare, who won an ITF Junior 200 event in Oberhaching, Germany, and continues to hone her game with the Tennis Scotland Performance Team at the University of Stirling.
Hot on the heels of Norrie in the men’s singles were Jacob Fearnley – who enjoyed a phenomenal year after leaving university in the summer, winning four ATP Challenger titles and pushing Novak Djokovic all the way at Wimbledon – US Open Boys’ singles semi-finalist Charlie Robertson, TS Open Tour champion Ewen Lumsden and runner-up Hamish Stewart.
Close behind Oluwadare were two-time winner on the 2024 TS Open Tour Heather Barlow and Anna McKnight, who won the ITF Junior 30 event in Edinburgh.
Maia Lumsden is top of the women’s doubles after another impressive year, which included winning a WTA 125 title alongside Emily Appleton in Midland, US, while adding another three ATP World Tour titles to his collection saw Jamie Murray top the men’s doubles, followed by Scott Duncan, who lifted the Lexus Glasgow Challenger title with Marcus Willis.
