Gordon Reid extended his incredible Grand Slam haul to 28 as he once again teamed up with Alfie Hewett to win the Australian Open.
For the pair, it was a record-breaking 22nd triumph together at the highest level – securing their sixth consecutive title in Melbourne.
The Scot and Hewett beat Spain’s Daniel Caverzaschi and Stephane Houdet of France 6-2, 6-4 in the final after crucial service breaks in the sixth game of both sets.
Reid - who now has a personal tally of seven Australian Open titles - said: “I think the key thing is just never resting on where we are and never being happy with our level, our performance, and always trying to improve.
"No matter which title we've won or which number it is, we always go back and review it and see where we can improve and get better.”
It was a double celebration in Melbourne for Hewett, who won his second Australian Open singles title against Japan’s Tokito Oda.
Stewart lifts doubles title in Sunderland
Hamish Stewart picked up his first title of the year, winning the men’s doubles as the ITF World Tennis Tour visited Sunderland.
Stewart teamed up with David Poljak to win the M25 event without dropping a set. The TS Open Tour finalist and his Czech partner breezed into the final with a 7-6, 6-0 win over Alexis Canter and Ryan Golesworthy in the last four and had been due to meet Giles Hussey and James Story, only for the pair to withdraw.
It was also a strong week in Sunderland for Scott Duncan and James MacKinlay as they reached the semi-finals before losing out to Hussey and Story.
The ITF World Tennis Tour arrives in Glasgow this week for a Lexus GB Pro-Series event at Scotstoun Community Tennis Centre, where entry is free for spectators.
