Lumsden defends Indoors title as Reid & Stewart win again

• 2 MINUTE READ

Ewen Lumsden defended his Scottish Indoor Open Championships title as the Tennis Scotland Open Tour returned in style.

A busy weekend of action was played out at the University of Stirling with high-quality 32-player draws in both the men’s and women’s event.

Title holder and TS Open Tour Finals champion Lumsden carved through his draw with a series of top performances, clinching his victory with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Kyle Mckay in the final.

In the women’s event, Ciara Moore got her hands on the trophy after coming through some tight sets en route to the final.

Her quarter-final with Georgiana Mititelu was one of the matches of the tournament, the pair splitting tie-breaks before Moore edged through 6-7, 7-6, 10-6.

She faced TS Open Tour Finals winner Mia Wainwright in the final, winning 6-3, 7-5.

Reid makes it a hat-trick at Cajun Classic

Gordon Reid won his third title of the year as he once again teamed up with Alfie Hewett to clinch silverware.

Reid and Hewett made it a hat-trick of Cajun Classic titles in Louisiana, coming through the draw without dropping a set.

The top seeds were even spared the need to get onto court for the final after being handed a walkover when Daniel Caverzaschi and Stephan Houdet withdrew.

Hewett also won the men’s singles title at the event on the ITF Wheelchair Tour, with Reid reaching the semi-finals before being edged out in three sets by Martin De la Puente.

Stewart lifts another doubles title in France

Hamish Stewart’s great form continued as he picked up his third doubles title of the year on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

Stewart was in France again – where he won doubles last week - this time competing at the M25 Creteil and clinched the title alongside David Poljak.

The second seeds dropped just one set all week, in their semi-final win over Ben Jones and Eero Vasa, before a convincing 7-6 (1), 6-3 victory over top seeds Mats Hermans and Tim Ruehl in the final.
