Funding available for inclusive tennis at your venue

• 4 MINUTE READ

The Open Court initiative delivered by Tennis Scotland can help make your venue more inclusive and accessible to people living with disabilities.

The LTA programme offers financial support, equipment and training for you to initiate and deliver sustainable inclusive sessions.

Last year, Open Court supported more than 30 clubs across Scotland in delivering inclusive sessions to people with disabilities who previously might not have been able to access tennis. In 2025, we are looking to support more venues and players than ever before.

The funding is intended to support venues looking to start up or enhance inclusive sessions and make your venue accessible to new groups. We look to work with both traditional (clubs and indoor centres) and non-traditional tennis venues (care homes, support groups, day centres etc). Small grants of £300 (12-week delivery) and £500 (32-week delivery) are available.

We understand that the need of each community is different, and therefore we ensure we take a person-centred approach to delivery. We work with venues to create bespoke plans that meet the needs of those looking to participate in the sport.

How to apply

Fill out our expression of interest form by clicking the link below:

Open Court Application

We will then organise a call with you to complete a delivery plan that is matched to the needs of your participants. Based on your delivery plan we will organise the necessary equipment and training. You then invoice us for your funding and get delivering.

Our asks:

  • All venues and coaches delivering Open Court programmes must work within LTA deployment guidelines.
  • Clubs are required to fill out the Open Court survey every quarter. Failure to do so will result in future applications for funding being rejected.
  • All venues must make us aware of any external funding for projects so we can work collaboratively to support as many venues as possible.
  • We ask that coaches and clubs are willing to work in partnership to deliver sessions and willing to make adaptations for longer-term sustainability of programmes.

Any expressions of interest will be processed and responded to within 14 days of submission. If you need any further information or help with filling out the form, please contact Jack Ganley on jack.ganley@tennisscotland.org. We look forward to working with your venue in 2025.
