We are looking for someone who can develop club players, support the teams, follow LTA programs and instil in the young a life long love for tennis. There also is the opportunity to run holiday camps and taster sessions with the local primary school and to seek new connections with other schools. The successful candidate will develop its own coaching team with a view to succession and holiday cover planning (leaders, level 1 and 2 coaches), help to grow the membership and work with the club’s committee.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coaching Program Development Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching program tailored to all ages and skill levels, utilizing the upgraded facilities to offer a diverse range of sessions, including junior groups, adult groups, and private lessons.

Introduce innovative coaching techniques and training methodologies to enhance player development and enjoyment of the sport.

2. Community Engagement Engage with the local community to promote tennis participation and increase club membership through outreach initiatives, including free coaching clinics, open days, and school partnerships. Establish strong ties with local schools, community groups, and businesses to raise awareness of the club and attract new members.

3. Tennis Camps and Events Organize and lead tennis camps and special events to provide additional opportunities for skill development, social interaction, and community bonding.

Collaborate with the club committee and volunteers to plan and execute tournaments, social gatherings, and other club activities.

4. Marketing and Promotion Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote coaching services, events, and membership opportunities, utilizing both traditional and digital channels.

Leverage the club's upgraded facilities as a key selling point to attract new members and enhance the club's reputation within the community.

Rhiwbina LTC is a long established traditional tennis club located right in the heart of the garden village next to Rhiwbina Primary School. It was founded in 1914 and the tennis club forms part of the Rhiwbina Recreation Club, 'the Rec', including a bar and a lounge room, plus Squash, Bowls, Rugby and Table Tennis sections.

We have 7 all weather courts, 3 clay (2 floodlit) and 4 hardcourt (3 floodlit) and a highly engaged tennis membership of about 350 members.

We have improved quite a few areas of the club in recent years, like changing one of the hard court surfaces to artificial clay, a new patio, repainting of the four hard courts and are currently working on exchanging our halide lights with LED lights.

In the summer we enter 10 adult teams in the summer doubles leagues plus 2 teams (ladies and men’s) in the National League along with 9 junior teams. In the winter we enter 13 teams in the winter doubles leagues. We are particularly proud that we have equal numbers of male and female players and our top teams (men/ ladies) are both in premier leagues.

The wider social, membership and community aspects of the Club are equally important to our success and we put special emphasis on our social sessions.

Rhiwbina LTC is looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about tennis and has strong communication skills to inspire and motivate people of all ages, genders and abilities.
