FIP Rise Rocks Lane 2024: Preview, draws & player list

Here’s everything you need to know about the first professional padel event of the season taking place in Great Britain – the FIP Rise Rocks Lane.

When is the FIP Rise Rocks Lane 2024?

The FIP Rise Rocks Lane padel tournament will take place from Wednesday 27 to Sunday 31 March 2024.

The event will be held at the Rocks Lane Multisport Centre in Chiswick London. Fans are welcome to attend the event throuout the week.

What is the Cupra FIP Tour?

The Cupra FIP Tour is the first stage of the professional padel circuit, with five different levels of events.

It feeds up to the Premier Padel Tour, which recently merged with the World Padel Tour and is now the main tour for the world’s leading players.

In Great Britain, we’re set to host three FIP Rise events this year, starting at Rocks Lane with further events set for the Stratford and another venue TBC.

Here is the scheduled order of play for the FIP Rise Rocks Lane:

  • Qualifiers – Wednesday 27 – Thursday 28 March
  • First round – Friday 29 March
  • Second round & Quarter-finals – Saturday 30 March
  • Semi-finals & Final – Sunday 31 March

Which British players are competing at the FIP Rise Rocks Lane 2024?

On the women’s side, Aimee Gibson will be in the highest seeded British player alongside Paula Canivell Varona. The duo recently won their first FIP event together at the FIP Promotion Cairo, marking Gibson’s maiden professional title.

They’ll be joined by British No.3 Catherine Rose, who has also enjoyed a stellar start to the season by making the final and semi-final at FIP Rise and Promotion events in Australia. At Rocks Lane, she’ll join forces with fellow Brit Victoria Nicholas – the duo recently reached the quarter-finals at the FIP Promotion Alicante.

Rounding off the women’s draw will be former FIP London Padel Open quarter-finalists Lisa Phillips and Sofia Haine, as well as wild cards Amy Cairns and Karen Hazzard.

On the men’s side, wild cards Alfonso Patacho and Chris Salisbury, and Francis Langan and Alexander Loughlan will lead the British challenge.

There will also be 21 Brits in the men's qualifying draws from Wednesday.
