Naomi Osaka & reigning champion Madison Keys confirmed for Rothesay International Eastbourne

Four-time major winner Naomi Osaka and 2023 champion Madison Keys have confirmed their places at the Rothesay International Eastbourne from 22-29 June this year.

The announcement comes as tickets for the Rothesay Summer Series and Lexus Trophy Series summer grass court season are now available to buy on general sale.

Osaka is set to make her grass court comeback five years on from her last appearance in Great Britain (Birmingham Classic and Wimbledon 2019), with the 26-year-old setting her sights on an eighth career title.

This will be Osaka’s second appearance at the Rothesay International Eastbourne having previously competed at Devonshire Park back in 2017 where she reached the second round.

The Japanese star looked back to her best recently at the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open where she defeated 15^th seed Caroline Garcia en route to the quarter-finals in only her fourth event since 2022.

Joining her as one of the first two stars announced to play at Eastbourne this year will be reigning champion Keys.

Last year, the American defeated the then world No.11 Daria Kasatkina 6-2, 7-6(13) in the final to add to her previous title in 2014.

Keys will be looking to become the first player to retain the trophy since Justine Henin from 2006-2007.

In addition to winning her seventh career title along the South Coast last year, Keys also reached the semi-finals of the US Open and quarter-finals at Wimbledon and qualified for the WTA Elite Trophy at the end of the season.
